Ólafur Arnalds Releases ‘they sink (TOKiMONSTA Remix)’

Ólafur Arnalds today releases a new version of they sink, remixed by Grammy nominated record producer and DJ TOKiMONSTA (Jennifer Lee). The original version of the track features on Ólafur’s critically acclaimed album re:member, which is out now.

I met TOKiMONSTA when playing alongside each other at Sónar Reykjavík a couple of years ago. Instantly fascinated by her approach and sound, I was very excited to see what she would do with a track like ’they sink’.

Known for her unique take on indie, electronic, R&B and dance music, LA-based electronic artist TOKiMONSTA adds distorted beats, pulsating rhythms and upbeat synths to Olafur’s haunting melody. The remix is an ingenious collaboration of two sonically different worlds colliding to create something truly exceptional.

TOKiMONSTA is an LA based producer who has collaborated with artists like Jessie Ware, Anderson Paak, and Kelly Rowland, while also putting out several records on her own Young Art Records imprint. TOKiMONSTA also features on the Netflix documentary Explained.
